Cycling Holidays in Puglia
Puglia is a wonderful tourist destination for cycling holidays in Italy, known for its villages, beautiful coastline, varied landscapes and delicious food.
This region boasts four UNESCO sites, all of which can be visited by bike. Two are located in the Gargano National Park, one in the Itria Valley, and the last in the province of BAT.
Puglia is a very diverse region and each part has its own special characteristics.
In the north is the Gargano National Park, the most natural and varied area of Puglia, with its beautiful coastline, mountains, lakes and forests.
In the Gargano area there are many wonderful towns such as Vieste and Peschici and two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Monte Sant'Angelo and the Umbra Forest.

In the center of Puglia lies the Itria Valley with its rolling hills.
In this part of the region, you can visit the Trulli, unique dwellings that are unlike any others in the world. It's a wonderful area, full of small villages and streets lined with dry stone walls, typical of Puglia.
In southern Puglia, you can visit Salento, a flatter area with beautiful beaches and elegant cities like Lecce, Otranto, and Gallipoli.

Puglia is also famous for its temperate climate in spring and autumn, ideal periods for cycling enthusiasts, with water temperatures that allow for a relaxing swim after a "ride on the bike".

The Gargano National Park is considered the green lung of Puglia for its biodiversity.
A Puglia bike trip in the Gargano National Park will allow you to admire one of the greatest varieties of landscapes in Europe concentrated in a small area.
Just think that in spring, around 90 species of wild orchids grow in the Gargano, a world record.ound
Cycling in the Gargano, you can discover small coves overlooking the sea with crystal clear sea, mountains, plains, the two lakes of Lesina and Varano, the Umbra Forest (UNESCO site), enchanting towns full of history such as Vieste, Peschici and Monte Sant'Angelo (UNESCO site) and many others.

If you choose the Gargano for your cycling holiday in Puglia, you can count on routes of varying levels, able to satisfy the expectations of every type of cyclist.
It will also be possible to combine routes on paved roads with routes on dirt roads and/or trails.
The champions of the Giro d'Italia often compete on these super panoramic roads.

The most famous village in the Itria Valley is Alberobello, renowned for its Trulli.
These are ancient buildings, unique in the world, located in the historic center of Alberobello (a UNESCO site) and in the countryside of the Itria Valley.
